The number of infections in the Canary Islands continues to grow exponentially and this Wednesday has reached another regrettable record, with 634 confirmed positives in a single day. The total number of active cases in the archipelago is now 6,489, of which 40 are admitted to the ICU and 260 remain hospitalized. In addition, in the last hours there has been the death of a 95-year-old woman in Tenerife, who suffered from previous pathologies and remained hospitalized.

The Accumulated Incidence at 7 days in the Canary Islands stands at 147.02 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 14 days at 251.02 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

By islands, Tenerife adds 333 cases this Wednesday, Gran Canaria shoots up to 224 in one day, Fuerteventura reaches 41, Lanzarote 22, La Palma 13 and La Gomera one, while El Hierro is the only island that has not registered any.
