Canary Islands reports two deaths from Covid and adds 578 new infections

The Canary Islands added 578 new cases of coronavirus this Monday. In addition, in the last hours the death of two people has been reported, an 88-year-old man in Gran Canaria with previous pathologies and in hospital admission and another person in Fuerteventura, although this last case is pending validation by the General Directorate of Public Health.

Until this Monday, a total of 3,139,592 diagnostic tests have been carried out in the Islands, of which 3,036 correspond to Sunday.

The Cumulative Incidence at 7 days in the Canary Islands stands at 294.68 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 14 days at 799.05 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

By islands, Tenerife adds 221 cases with a total of 49,054 cases that are epidemiologically active; Gran Canaria has 279 more than the previous day and 45,485 active cases. Lanzarote adds 31 new cases with 2,809 epidemiologically active cases. Fuerteventura has 33 new cases and 6,866 active cases. La Palma adds five new positives, so it has 485 active cases. El Hierro adds two new positives, so it has 102 active cases and La Gomera adds seven new cases, so its active cases are 75.

The total number of accumulated cases in the Canary Islands is 264,561 with 104,876 active cases, of which 81 are admitted to the ICU and 581 remain hospitalized
