The Canary Islands registered five new deaths linked to the coronavirus this Tuesday, reaching a total of 21 deaths since the beginning of this crisis. In addition, the number of cases has increased again today, now rising to 667 in the archipelago.

The new figure, updated at 9:15 p.m. this Tuesday, represents an increase of 100 new positives in one day. Regarding the detail by islands, the Ministry of Health will not make it public until Wednesday. In this regard, it should be remembered that the Ministry of Health is only providing an advance with the general situation of the archipelago at the end of each day, but it is at noon when it issues a single statement with the detailed data of the previous day.

In the case of Lanzarote, the first death of a person with coronavirus was registered this Tuesday. In addition, the Ministry of Health reported this noon of 13 cases, but throughout the afternoon two more positives were known, a resident and a nurse from the Domingo Guzmán-Las Cabreras nursing home. However, this figure could grow even more when the Ministry of Health gives the figures by islands, since the tests are being carried out now in Gran Canaria and the results are taking longer to arrive due to the accumulation of pending tests.
