The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands confirms a new case and seven under study for possible diagnosis of monkeypox since this Tuesday.

This means that there are a total of 46 confirmed cases since the beginning of the declaration of the health alert, of which 33 were detected in Gran Canaria and 13 in Tenerife.

The Ministry of Health points out that all cases are having mild symptoms and remain in home isolation, which suggests that the patient who had been admitted to the Doctor Negrín hospital this Tuesday has already been discharged.

Regarding the cases under study, the Ministry establishes this Wednesday a total of ten, nine probable and one suspicious, all of them in Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
