Canary Islands has registered so far a total of 12,489 accumulated cases of covid-19, which means 136 more than the previous day, from 4,318 PCRs carried out in the archipelago. In addition, 184 people have been discharged from hospital, so there are already 5,600 islanders who have overcome the disease.
With data from the Ministry of Health closed at 2:00 p.m., of the total cases, 6,670 remain active, 48 less than this Wednesday, while in the last day no deaths have been registered, leaving the figure at 219 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
For its part, of the total active cases, 6,396 are receiving assistance at home (-48), 210 are hospitalized (-2) and 64 are admitted to the ICU (+2).
Breakdown by islands
By islands, the one with the most accumulated positives is Gran Canaria, which has 7,036 affected, 58 new of them in the last 24 hours. Of this figure, 4,651 are active cases, 3,885 of them in the capital, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Likewise, the number of deaths amounts to 79 people.
Tenerife, meanwhile, has added 58 cases in the last day, up to a total of 3,610 accumulated positives, 1,687 of them active, and registered 124 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
Lanzarote has 1,040 accumulated positives, 8 new; Fuerteventura, with 547 accumulated positives, (+11); La Palma, 174 accumulated positives and no new cases; El Hierro, with an accumulated 46 and no new cases, and, finally, La Gomera, with 36 accumulated positives, one of them in the last 24 hours.
The deaths by islands are distributed as follows: 124 deaths in Tenerife; 79 in Gran Canaria; 8 in Lanzarote; 6 in La Palma and 2 in Fuerteventura.
