The Government of the Canary Islands, through the Canary Islands Health Service (SCS), plans to carry out a minimum of 6,000 vaccinations per week against Covid-19, as announced by the spokesman for the Canary Islands Executive, Julio Pérez.

In the press conference after the Governing Council, Julio Pérez indicated that this Tuesday 13,650 doses have been received which, around 3:00 p.m., had already been distributed throughout the islands to continue from this Wednesday with the vaccination plan.

Julio Pérez pointed out that the intention is to carry out a minimum of 6,000 vaccinations per week, taking into account that the rate will increase as the vaccination process is "more established".

In this sense, he commented that since the Canary Islands will receive more than 160,000 doses, it will be necessary to adapt the vaccination rate, to which must be added that at the end of January it will also be possible to have vaccines from other laboratories.

On the other hand, the spokesperson wanted to highlight the effort made by the European Union to ensure that the vaccine has reached all Member States at the same time, as well as the role played by public services and private actors.
