The Canary archipelago has closed this Thursday without counting deaths and adding two cases of coronavirus, in addition to registering 51 new recovered patients, according to the latest data up to 8:00 p.m. provided by the Government of the Canary Islands.
In this way, the total confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the Canary Islands amount to 2,337, of which 1,930 have already been discharged. Therefore, there are 247 active patients, since a total of 160 have died so far in the pandemic crisis.
This Thursday, the active cases in the ICU amount to six people, all on the island of Tenerife, while the active but hospitalized on the floor reach 33. A total of 208 cases are still with the disease but in their homes.
Tenerife accounts for 67% of declared cases
67 percent of the total declared cases have been registered in Tenerife, with 1,567 --190 active cases--, compared to 583 in Gran Canaria --46 active--, which is the second island with the most affected.
The deaths by islands are distributed as follows: 113 deaths in Tenerife; 3 in La Palma; 0 in La Gomera; 0 in El Hierro; 39 in Gran Canaria; 6 in Lanzarote and 0 in Fuerteventura.
About 587 healthcare professionals infected since the beginning
On the other hand, the number of healthcare professionals infected by the COVID-19 coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic is 587, which represents 25% of the total declared cases.
Regarding the tests, the Canary Islands Health Service has tested a total of 101,870 people, many of them several times through different diagnostic tests.
The total number of tests is 125,422. Of this total, 106,522 are PCR tests (Polymerase Chain Reaction) for the diagnosis of COVID-19 and 18,900 are molecular technique tests, lgG and IgM and ELISA.
Finally, the Ministry of Health, adapting to the new protocol of the Ministry of Health, reports that until 8:00 p.m. yesterday; the SCS professionals, in their tracking work, have detected a total of 223 suspected cases in the Canary Islands.
