The Ministry of Presidency of the Government of the Canary Islands has published, in the official bulletins of the two provinces, the bases that initiate the selective process of the unified annual call of 2023 to cover 74 positions for local police officers in 21 municipalities of the islands, through open competition. Among them, seven are in two municipalities of Lanzarote.
The positions offered are four in Teguise, three in Tías, both in Lanzarote, sixteen in Tacoronte, three in Güímar, seven in La Laguna, twelve in Arona, in Tenerife, as well as one in Teror, one in Vega de San Mateo, three in Agaete, two in Arucas, two in Valleseco in Gran Canaria, one in San Andrés y Sauces, four in Los Llanos de Aridane, one in Tazacorte, four in El Paso, two in Santa Cruz de La Palma, one in Agulo, one in Vallehermoso, two in Hermigua, two in Valle Gran Rey in La Gomera and two in Tuineje in Fuerteventura.
The bases incorporate changes to reduce the deadlines of the entire procedure, in order for the municipalities to have the new local police officers incorporated into the staff as soon as possible, the Ministry has reported.
The purpose of the call is to provide, through the free shift and under the regime of career civil servants, a total of 74 positions from 21 municipalities in the Canary Islands, belonging to the Special Administration Scale, Special Services Subscale, Local Police Class, Basic Scale, Group C, Subgroup C1.
This process is carried out in accordance with the cooperation agreement between the Public Administration of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands, through the Ministry of Public Administrations, Justice and Security, and the Canary Federation of Municipalities (Fecam) that implements the delegation of the powers of the municipalities of the Canary Islands that have decided to join in the selection processes for access to the Local Police Corps.
