Canary Islands adds three new cases of monkeypox

In total, and since the beginning of the alert, the Canary Islands registers 25 positives and 10 under study, of which five are probable cases and five are suspected

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands counts three confirmed cases and three under study for possible diagnosis of monkeypox since last Friday, of which two are probable and one is suspected.

This means that there are a total of 25 confirmed cases since the beginning of the declaration of the health alert, of which 19 were detected in Gran Canaria and six in Tenerife.

All cases are having mild symptoms and remain in home isolation receiving follow-up from Primary Care.

Thus, the cases confirmed and notified in the Canary Islands since the beginning of the alert and until this Monday are as follows: 25 confirmed cases, 19 in Gran Canaria and six in Tenerife; five probable cases pending confirmation, four in Gran Canaria and one in Tenerife; five suspected cases, pending confirmation, which have been detected three in Tenerife, one in Gran Canaria and one in Lanzarote.
