Canary Islands adds nine more cases of monkeypox

The archipelago has 116 positive cases and ten cases under study, of which one is probable and nine are suspected

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands reports nine new cases and ten under study of monkeypox since this Monday.

Therefore, since the beginning of the declaration of the health alert there are 116 confirmed cases, of which 77 were detected in Gran Canaria, 36 in Tenerife and three in Fuerteventura. All active cases are having mild symptoms and remain in home isolation.

In addition, Health specifies that of the ten cases under study, one is probable and nine are suspected, all of them detected in Gran Canaria, Tenerife and Fuerteventura.
