Canary Islands adds five new cases of monkeypox and reaches 87 diagnoses

The archipelago maintains three probable cases under study, two reported in Gran Canaria and one in Tenerife

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has registered five new cases of monkeypox and three under study since Thursday.

Therefore, since the beginning of the declaration of the health alert there are 87 confirmed cases, of which 58 were detected in Gran Canaria, 27 in Tenerife and two in Fuerteventura. In addition, there are also two probable cases pending confirmation in Gran Canaria and one in Tenerife.

All active cases are having mild symptoms and remain in home isolation receiving follow-up by Primary Care.
