Canary Islands adds five days without deaths and only 182 active cases of Covid

The islands have registered a total of 2,355 accumulated cases of coronavirus so far.

The Canary Islands have accumulated five consecutive days without deaths and remain with a total of 160 after the data closure at 8:00 p.m. this Monday by the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, which also includes four new positives in the last 24 hours, bringing the accumulated total to 2,359.

In addition, this Monday there have been 19 discharges --2,017 people have already overcome the disease-- and active cases drop to 182, of which 150 are at home, 27 are hospitalized and only five are in Intensive Care Units (ICU).

By islands, Tenerife has the most cases with 1,490 followed by Gran Canaria (590), La Palma (99), Lanzarote (86), Fuerteventura (45), La Gomera (8) and El Hierro (3).

Covid-19 affects women more than men, with 1,283 and 1,075 cases, respectively, and in age groups the most affected is the 40-49 age group with 420 cases, although mortality punishes those over 80, with almost half of the deaths in the archipelago (76).
