Canary Islands adds another 343 cases of Covid and the incidence at 7 days enters high risk

Tenerife concentrates 222 positives, although the upward trend also continues in Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura

This Friday, the Canary Islands has added another 343 cases of Covid-19, a figure slightly lower than the previous day, but which confirms the increase in infections that the archipelago is suffering.

In fact, the cumulative incidence at 7 days has already entered high risk, exceeding 75 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Specifically, it stands this Friday at 79.05, while at 14 days it is at 136.12. In the case of this second indicator, it is still at medium risk, since the high risk starts from 150.

By islands, Tenerife has registered 222 positives and has 2,855 epidemiologically active. As for Gran Canaria, it maintains the upward trend and has added 81 in this last day. Also in Fuerteventura the rebound of infections continues and has registered another 29, accumulating already 203 active cases. As for Lanzarote, it has added six positives and has 62 active cases.

The only island that has not registered positives is La Gomera, while La Palma has added one and El Hierro four.

In addition, positivity has also skyrocketed. And the increase in positives is not coinciding with an increase in the number of tests. In fact, 3,049 PCRs were performed throughout the archipelago on the last day, according to data from the Ministry of Health.
