The Canary Islands has registered 247 new positive cases of coronavirus in the last day, bringing the total accumulated figure to 10,141 and active cases to 6,255. This is 65 more than the previous day, as 182 discharges have also been added (there have been 3,697 since the pandemic began).
Regarding the number of deaths, the website enabled by the Ministry of Health continues to place it at 189 since Wednesday, although this Thursday afternoon, in a press release, it reported two more deaths that are still not registered on the website.
Of the currently active cases, 54 people occupy a bed in Intensive Care Units (ICU) - four more than the previous day - 297 are hospitalized on the ward (-3) and the rest, 5,994 people, are in home isolation.
By islands, Gran Canaria has counted 145 cases this Friday, bringing the accumulated cases to 5,728 and the active cases to 4,392, of which 3,638 are located in the capital, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
It is followed by Tenerife with 60 new cases, bringing the total to 2,835 and 1,086 accumulated and active cases, respectively, while Lanzarote, with 23 new cases, increases the accumulated cases to 920 and the active cases to 579.
In Fuerteventura, 17 new cases are counted this Friday - the accumulated cases are 419 and the active cases 134 - and in La Palma, three, which raise the accumulated cases to 171 and the active cases to 35.
El Hierro and La Gomera have not registered cases this Friday and remain with 45 accumulated and 17 active, in the case of the first island, and 23 and 12 in the second, respectively.
