Canary Islands adds 144 cases of monkeypox

Since the beginning of the alert, the archipelago registers 144 positives and five cases under study, all suspected

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has notified one new case and three under study of monkeypox since this Wednesday.

Therefore, since the beginning of the declaration of the health alert there are 144 confirmed cases, of which 85 were detected in Gran Canaria, 53 in Tenerife, four in Fuerteventura, one in La Palma and another in Lanzarote. All active cases are having mild symptoms and remain in home isolation.

In addition, the Ministry of Health currently maintains five cases under study suspected of monkeypox, three notified in Tenerife, one in Gran Canaria and one in Lanzarote.
