The University of La Laguna (ULL) reported this Monday that it will not authorize the holding of an event announced on social networks under the slogan 'Combative Spain' and promoted by Vito Quiles, and justifies its decision on the grounds that it cannot "support the dissemination of disinformation".
Nor to give a platform to messages "contrary to human rights, freedom, equality, or the dignity of persons," the academic institution from Tenerife argues on social media.
Remember that its "priority obligation is to ensure the safety, coexistence, and normal development of academic and research activity," so it does not authorize "activities that may put them at risk."
And adds that he reaffirms his "commitment to freedom of expression and to plural and respectful debate, attending to the statutory values and within the academic and legal context of public universities."
In that context, the ULL elaborates, it "cannot condone the dissemination of disinformation or messages contrary to human rights, freedom, equality, or the dignity of individuals."
Vito Quiles, an EDATV employee and collaborator with Se Acabó La Fiesta (SALF), has already been banned from other academic institutions such as the University of Granada or the Pablo Olavide University of Seville with arguments similar to those put forward by the ULL.
