Astrid Pérez, the president of the Parliament of the Canary Islands, has released an institutional message this Wednesday on the occasion of Canary Islands Day. Pérez has expressed her pride in having built "together" an archipelago that is "modern, developed, and supportive, that leaves no one behind." Furthermore, she has highlighted the importance of having a Canary Islands that "doesn't forget where we come from and attends to our elders and the most vulnerable people as they deserve."

Pérez has defended the necessity of "finding creative solutions for the problems of the eight islands" and maintaining a Canary Islands "faithful to centuries of history, tradition, and wisdom." From the political class and together with the citizens of the islands, she has encouraged the desire to make a "better Canary Islands." "We are going to build the Canary Islands of the future, the best Canary Islands possible," she added.

The president concluded her speech congratulating all Canarians for the celebration of this special day. "Happy Canary Islands Day!"
