A new death registered in the last hours has raised the number of deaths of patients with coronavirus in the Canary Islands to 103, while hospital discharges already reach 617, some 28 people more than this Monday.

According to the statistics of the Ministry of Health, as of 2:00 p.m. this Tuesday, the archipelago has a total of 1,975 accumulated positive cases, 17 more than on Monday, and 0.092% of the population, with a rate of 91.72 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

Of this total, 1,255 are the cases that remain active, after discounting the 617 recovered and the 103 deceased.

By place of the detected case, Covid-19 affects 53 municipalities of the islands, is more accentuated in women than in men -1,054 cases compared to 909- and mortality is higher among those over 80 years, with 52 deaths.

Regarding the residences for the elderly, the number of deaths in the Canary Islands has remained at eight people for days, according to sources from the Ministry to Europa Press. All of them have taken place in Tenerife and associated with the residences of Tegueste, with five deaths; Fasnia, with two deaths; and Santa Rita, in Puerto de la Cruz, with one death.
