A reader has written to La Voz to demand that the Arrecife City Council install bollards on the sidewalks surrounding the Buganvillas shopping center, to prevent vehicles from climbing and parking, invading the sidewalk. "The sidewalks are at street level and, as they are not protected by bollards or curbs, cars go up without problems," he denounced.
"A mother had to go through the asphalt with the baby stroller since it did not fit on the sidewalk," he stated. For this reason, he has asked the capital's Consistory to protect the sidewalks and has recalled that the weight of the vehicles can cause the paving to sink, "destroying the sidewalks a few days after they have been finished".
