Poem dedicated to "Telamon", the ship wrecked in Los Mármoles

Adrián A.L. has sent a poem to La Voz, dedicated to the ship "Telamón", stranded between Las Caletas and Los Mármoles. His intention is that no one forgets this ship and, therefore, he wants to share his writing with all the people of Lanzarote. This ship ran aground at the end of 1981, after departing from the Ivory Coast bound for the city of Thessaloniki, in Greece. It was transporting logs, which never reached their destination. Adrián tells his story like this:

"I, Telamon"

Sailing, sailing

I was looking on the horizon

for a place to rest,

I found, far away, some mountains,

mountains in the sea.

No, they weren't mountains,

it was the expected end.

No, they weren't mountains.

They were islands!

I went to them,

to seek shelter,

I finally felt it,

I'm still alive,

alive to arrive.

How much despair,

how much haste,

how much emotion,

there was a beautiful island

where to wait for me.

Unfortunately, I ran aground,

I fell wounded.

Unfortunately, I fainted,

I felt cold,

I felt pain.

...

The days went by,

I still feel pain,

I'm still wounded.

I, Telamon,

here I am stranded.

I, Telamon,

abandoned on the shore.

I, Telamon,

I beg you not to leave me in oblivion.

I, Telamon,

still in abandonment, I am alive.

I, Telamon,

I was Greek.

I, Telamon,

here I died...
