Juani Alemán, a resident of Lanzarote, has sent La Voz an emotional letter to pay tribute to Calixto, a man who was a teacher at the Capellanía de Yágabo school in Arrecife after his death.

"A blow resounded in my heart, my dear Calixto. You have left, and you leave us sad and heartbroken. And I want to pay my small tribute to a great human being and TEACHER.

Every day I went to your class; because you were pure wisdom and you taught me a lot, always with your mischievous humor. Those notebooks, which you marked, one by one, with hundreds of photocopies, tireless worker. When I asked you about your retirement, you always evaded the answer, because you loved this profession of ours. I sat down and asked you for advice, you never showed a bad face, you helped in everything. I have a lot of affection for that school, the Capellanía del Yágabo, where I was very happy and had the honor of meeting you. You don't always find colleagues with your talent, I was fortunate to share not only with you; but with everyone.

I will not forget the teachings and what you transmitted, a teacher never dies. Imagine my dear Calixto the number of generations that carry your teachings. There will always be unforgettable moments, but also incomparable people like you.

You were and will be one of the essentials, when we meet with you, we will continue enjoying you. See you soon great TEACHER, we will miss you, but I in my heart, have a place of honor where you entered when I met you and there you will continue. Keep smiling my friend.

Rest in peace".
