"Arrecife illuminated and the lampposts of Punta del Camello without fixing". This is how a reader has summarized the complaint she wanted to make public through La Voz de Lanzarote, since she considers that there is a "disproportion" and too great a contrast between these Christmas days and the situation that has been experienced for "too long" in some areas of the capital.

In her case, she recalls that several months ago, "even before the pandemic", users of the Arrecife Marina promenade found the Punta del Camello part completely fenced off due to the detachment of one of the lampposts. "A lot of time has passed since then and today, the area is still completely dark," she denounces.

"Observing how the Arrecife City Council has wonderfully decorated our city, with a great display of lighting not seen in other years, which I do not deny that I enjoy, I wonder how it is possible that there is no item to fix this small problem. Those of us who walk, run and stroll there have the right to see where we are going," this reader claims.
