Club Balonmano Zonzamas announces the dismissal of Juanmi Pérez as coach of Zonzamas Plus Car Lanzarote, as well as Casimiro Tejera as second coach. The decision responds exclusively to sporting reasons and seeks to promote a change of dynamics that allows the group to regain confidence, competitiveness and results.
The board believes that the team is not managing to reflect its full potential on the court, despite having a quality squad, and that the current working dynamics are not offering the expected results. The team has accumulated four defeats and only one victory at the start of this season, with stumbles against direct rivals for permanence such as Morvedre (27-24) or Sporting La Rioja (26-19).
"We are convinced that the team has more than enough potential to achieve permanence in the category, but we understand that the current coaching staff was not managing to assemble the pieces of a group with many new players," says the board of Club Balonmano Zonzamas.
"We know that the challenge is complicated and that both Juanmi and Casimiro have given their all, but with the results in hand, it is clear that they were not finding the formula. The team deserves this board to react and look for solutions before it is too late and salvation becomes an exercise in heroism," the statement adds.
