The year 2026 started with an average price of diesel in Lanzarote of 1.185 euros per liter, while the gasoline cost on average 1.187 euros, according to figures from the Lanzarote Data Center.
The conflict between the United States and Israel with Iran and the subsequent almost total closure of the Strait of Ormuz, which hinders the exit of gas and oil from the Gulf countries, has triggered fuel prices.
Currently, there are already several establishments in Lanzarote where diesel exceeds 1.5 euros per liter and gasoline is also very close to that mark.
The most expensive gas station on the island currently is TGAS Haría, where the liter of diesel marks 1.590 euros, gasoline 95 is at 1.420 euros and gasoline 98 is charged at 1.470 euros.
On the contrary, the cheapest establishment in Lanzarote these days is Plenoil, the low-cost petrol station with facilities in Arrecife. There the diesel is at 1.219 euros per litre, while the petrol 95 is sold at 1.199 euros.
The cheapest gas station on the island with for 98 octane gasoline is Disa de Mácher, where the liter currently costs 1.338 euros. This establishment is also the second cheapest after Plenoil for diesel (1.254 euros ) and 95 octane gasoline (1.234 euros ).
