Unión Sur Yaiza played a real final this Saturday in Tenerife and did their homework. The Municipal of Villa Isabel hosted the match between Ibarra and Unión Sur Yaiza corresponding to matchday 22 of the Third Division RFEF.
Both teams knew that the loser of the match would be back in the relegation places, so the tension was palpable during the previous days. In the end, Yaiza hit the table and won (1-3) to get out of the dangerous places in the standings with those 3 vital points won away from home.
But the match, far from what the final result announces, began with a dangerous play by the locals with a cross from Abián Santos that Jony Cabrera headed in a plane, but missed the target against Álex Medina.
From that moment on, the two teams fought to take the helm, but the greens took over the reins of the match while the Tenerife team waited, patiently, for the saving counterattack.
Those from Montaña La Cinta were going to show that they were serious about the three points, touching the quarter hour of play when a corner kick from the left ended in a left-footed shot that Javi Morales placed next to Kevin Acosta's right post. Great goal by Javi Morales to make it 0-1 and start dreaming.
Far from reacting the locals, drowsy from the goal, Yaiza could have extended the score with a play by Álex Yunes in the 40th that ended in a shot by Acorán stopped, this time yes, by Kevin Acosta. The local response would not be long in coming, already in stoppage time, with a dangerous cross from the left by Jony Cabrera on the baseline that, finally, Álex Medina managed to capture.
After the break there was a change per team but the match did not seem to change owners. In the 56th a shot by Acorán ended too crossed in front of the local goalkeeper already beaten. Shortly after, Acorán himself made amends and did not fail again after receiving a long ball on the left wing, controlled and faced Kevin Acosta. Yaiza made it 0-2.
In the 61st Yaiza struck again. The 0-3 arrived with a ball on the left to the near post where, the smartest in the class, Emiliano Trovento, anticipated everyone and scored high to sentence.
After the 0-3, Ibarra seemed to wake up after more changes but with more heart than head. There were some dangerous plays but until the 82nd minute the locals would not be able to open the scoring with an isolated play. A cross from Abián Santos reached Dani Hernández who managed to cross in front of Álex Medina.
Little else happened before the final whistle. Unión Sur Yaiza, superior at all times to Ibarra, leaves the relegation zone, an area in which Ibarra itself enters.
