The Yaiza City Council and the Unión Deportiva Las Palmas presented this Thursday at the Hotel Costa Calero the X UDLP Campus in Lanzarote. This is now the eighth time that the municipality of Yaiza has hosted these conferences thanks to the collaboration and good relations between the Institution presided over by Óscar Noda and the yellow Club.
One more year, the team of grassroots football professionals from the Unión Deportiva will be at the southern football field for two weeks, from July 7 to 19, providing training to boys and girls on the island with the aim not only of promoting the practice of sports, but to promote, through football, the transmission of values such as teamwork, companionship and solidarity. Registration is open for boys and girls, from 5 to 14 years old, with all the information available in the banner on the City Council's cover and on the UD Las Palmas website.
These are two intense weeks of learning and fun that, in the balance of previous editions, reflect a high level of satisfaction on the part of young athletes and their families. The event was attended by a municipal representation headed by the Councilor for Sports of Yaiza, Ángel Lago, in the company of Yeray Sánchez, director of the UDLP School, Paquito Ortiz, head of Innovation of the UDLP Foundation, and Eduardo Miquel, director of Hotel Costa Calero Thalasso & Spa.
Councilor Ángel Lago expressed “the firm purpose of the Institution that the yellow campus continues to be held in Yaiza and even with more places. From the Yaiza City Council we are firmly committed to grassroots sports and the training of boys, girls and young people. Likewise, Yaiza thanks the Hotel Costa Calero and Volkswagen Canarias for their continued support so that the activity is maintained and to the UDLP Foundation for the synergy and trust placed in the municipality, as well as the special treatment that the technical staff of the UDLP School provides to our boys and girls through the affection they show in teaching.”
Paquito Ortiz, head of Innovation of the UDLP Foundation, assured that “it is a good sign that summer after summer this event is not only repeated, but that it is growing, since it places and establishes the project in the municipality and its residents. I want to highlight the human factor that we have always found in Yaiza, thanking the local entities and also the population of Yaiza, for the affection and welcome with which they always receive us.”
For his part, Eduardo Miquel, director of Hotel Costa Calero, pointed out that “it is an honor for this hotel to become the logistics headquarters and place of residence for the personnel displaced by the UDLP School during the Campus dates, with which we extend support for the sports activity of young people, aligning ourselves with the social objective of the institutions.”
Yeray Sánchez, director of the UDLP School, closed the presentation by making special mention of the sponsors and congratulating the Yaiza City Council “for the importance of managing to retain such an important activity in a year as significant as the tenth anniversary of the UDLP Campus in Lanzarote.”
