The two Lanzarote representatives of the Third RFEF Division faced each other on Saturday afternoon, with a great atmosphere in the Municipal de Yaiza facilities, although with little attractive play from Unión Sur Yaiza and UD Lanzarote.
The rojillos were more successful than their rival, to take the three points that were at stake and climb to sixth place in the standings.
In the first half, the game took place in the width of the field, an area in which both teams fought for the ball. The locals tried with a free kick from Juanca, which Alejandro responded to with a good intervention. And Lanzarote's response came with a long ball that Ismael Traoré barely missed.
The match was unbalanced in favor of the rojillos at the edge of halftime. Kevin Lemes, with a play down the right wing, gave way to Ayoze, and the UD Lanzarote captain was knocked down inside the area. Gonzalo Di Renzo was in charge of executing the penalty and established the 0-1 with which they reached halftime.
The second half of the match continued to be just as rough, without continuity in the game and with continuous interruptions. The clock advanced in favor of the interests of UD Lanzarote, knowing how to hold on to the meager advantage and defending themselves with order from the attacks of the locals.
The sentence came in the 83rd minute in a set-piece action. Ayoze Pérez was in charge of executing a free kick from the left side, and Matheus at the far post finished into the back of the net to beat Floro's stretch.
0-2 victory for UD Lanzarote against Unión Sur Yaiza, being the first time that the rojillo team has conquered victory in the Municipal de Yaiza in official competition. Three points that place the team led by Mateo García in sixth position and already thinking about the duel in seven days against CD Herbania.
