UD Lanzarote extended its poor run of results on Sunday at noon and suffered the fourth consecutive defeat of the second round of the Third Federation. The Rojillos lost by the minimum against CD Marino, in a match marked by equality and in which the team led by Mateo García sent two balls to the posts.
The match started with a lot of equality, with intense fighting in the center of the field and both teams having problems generating dangerous chances. CD Marino took the lead on their first arrival in the opposite area. In a throw-in, the Lanzarote defense was not successful in clearing the danger and Ahmed caught the loose ball into the back of the net.
The goal served for UD Lanzarote to stretch lines and go in search of the equalizer. The clearest chance for the Rojillos came in the 35th minute, when Gonzalo Di Renzo finished off a ball at the far post and the sphere ended up crashing into the post of the Marino goal. With 1-0 the first 45 minutes came to an end.
UD Lanzarote did not have clear ideas in the second half, and there were few chances they generated despite being behind on the scoreboard. In the 17th minute of the restart, Ismael Traoré extended a ball to the far post, but he did not find a finisher for a sphere that passed through the entire goal line.
And after half an hour of the second half, Gonzalo Di Renzo received a ball on the right side of the area, went past the defender and the crossed shot ended up crashing into the base of the post of the goal defended by David Kikvidze.
Minimal defeat for UD Lanzarote against CD Marino, a setback that places the Rojillo team in seventh position in the standings with 28 points. The next rival of UD Lanzarote will be CD Mensajero, a match that will be played on Sunday at 12:30 pm at the Ciudad Deportiva Lanzarote.
