Raqui San Isidro was the new victim of UD Lanzarote outside the Sports City. The Tenerife team joins other teams such as Pontevedra, Leganés or Alcorcón in the list of invincibility of the "rojillos" away from the Island. In addition, the Lanzarote team needed three derbies to finally beat a Canarian rival after the defeat against UD Fuerteventura and the draw last week against Villa de Santa Brígida.
UD Lanzarote knocked out San Isidro in the Las Palmeras municipal stadium with the excellent performance of an inspired Nacho Rodríguez, who scored both goals, although he needed a huge dose of dedication. The locals approached the match with their luxury squad in which they recovered Ulises and Noah. Meanwhile, in the Lanzarote team, Marino returned to the starting lineup under the sticks while Fredrik had minutes in the second period in his return to the field after two months. Gómez replaced Nene in the interior, while the usual pairs of forwards, centre-backs, full-backs and midfielders were repeated.
Raqui soon showed his cards, exhibiting the verticality that he can reach with outside men like Acorán or Suso himself. Precisely from the wing came the first chance for local striker Noah, who, as the match approached the quarter hour, took advantage of a rebound from Marino to finish somewhat deflected.
UD Lanzarote did not need a second chance as they managed to score in one of their first approaches. Nacho, in the 23rd minute, culminated a good attacking move by Yeray Ortega in the area, beating goalkeeper Moisés on his way out. The joy would be short-lived for the "rojillos" as before the end of the first half Noah put the equalizer on the scoreboard thanks to the good work on the wing by Acorán.
Nacho was right
The second half was a period of scarce but distributed opportunities for both sides. The changes introduced by Quico de Diego in the final stretch did not serve to mitigate the advantage that Nacho Rodríguez had achieved for the Lanzarote team in the 60th minute, when he culminated an inside pass and beat Moisés again. Yeray Ortega even had time to serve a clear goalscoring opportunity before being substituted, but his cross was not headed by Aníbal.
The defensive order and the success of Marino under the sticks were the arguments used by the "rojillos" in the final stretch of the match, where Noah became a permanent reference for his teammates.
With this away victory, UD Lanzarote is placed in second place in the general classification and awaits another regional derby next Sunday, when they host Pájara Playas de Jandía.
