UD Lanzarote ends up losing after leading by two goals

UD Lanzarote let a good opportunity to add a new victory in the Third Federation slip away, seeing how their rival took the victory in the 93rd minute. The Rojillos took a two-goal lead in the second half, goals scored by Nadjib and Adrián Machín. In three set-piece actions, Villa de Santa Brígida turned the result around.

UD Lanzarote took control of the game from the start, being the team that commanded on the field of the Municipal de Los Olivos and the one that enjoyed the best chances. The team led by Juan Carlos Socorro was not successful in the final meters, and the match reached halftime with a goalless draw.

At the beginning of the second half, a good cross from Alex Cruz from the right wing was finished by Nadjib, putting the ball next to the base of the post to make it 0-1. Minutes later, in a play by Adrián Machín on the left, his first shot hit the post and he picked up the rebound to make it the second for the Rojillos.

UD Villa de Santa Brígida reduced the difference on the scoreboard in a set-piece action, with Ale Gil finishing off a corner kick. With four minutes remaining, an extraordinary free kick executed by Abraham went into the top corner of the goal defended by Ruymán. And in the 93rd minute, Ascanio headed in a free kick from the locals.

UD Lanzarote was left without a prize, seeing how a match that they had on track slipped away, and leaving three important points on the road. The Rojillos will close the year by hosting CD Mensajero next week.
