On Monday afternoon, the 2021/2022 season kicked off for UD Lanzarote, with the first preseason training session held at the Lanzarote Sports City facilities. This initial contact was marked by physical work designed by trainer Aythami Rodríguez and supervised by coach Mateo García.

The president of UD Lanzarote, Juan Carlos Albuixech, accompanied by members of the Board of Directors, was in charge of welcoming the players and coaching staff, wishing them the best of luck in a season that is starting and in which the club intends to meet the objectives that have been set.

The coach of UD Lanzarote, Mateo García, met in the center of the field with the players and explained the work system that will be developed in the coming days and asked the players for maximum professionalism both on and off the field, to avoid unexpected situations related to the pandemic.

The first preseason training session had some absences. Full-back Miguel Ángel and midfielder Miguel Gopar were absent for family reasons, and Keita will arrive in the coming days once the bureaucratic issues have been resolved. For his part, Leo Márquez arrived on the island of Lanzarote on Monday night and will join training this Tuesday. And in the first days of August, Adrián Machín, Aythami Yebri and Julyan, players who are on loan at IFK Skövde in Sweden, will return.

The coaching staff of UD Lanzarote has scheduled six training sessions for the first week of preseason work, which will take place in the afternoon until next Friday. Saturday's training will be in the morning and a small match is planned to see the progress of the players who are on trial.
