The team formed by Yeray Lemes and Javi Afonso, with a Porsche 911 GT3, finished on Friday night as leader of the second edition of the Yaiza Rallysprint, taking the lead in the classification after the first two night stages. Now, this Saturday they must confirm that leadership in the remaining four passes.
They won the two specials with a time of 4.58.9 and 4.58.2, respectively, which has meant an advantage of 11.5 seconds over the next classified. That provisional second place is occupied by Toñín Suárez-Jorge Cedrés, with another Porsche 911, who were second in TC1 Las Casitas-Las Breñas and third in the opposite direction.
Third for the moment are Suso Lemes-Raúl Martín, with their usual Mitsubishi Lancer Evo, about 7 seconds behind the previous ones, although with only a few tenths of a second advantage over their pursuer. The team that finished fourth overall last night, which at the moment is the team of Óliver Rodríguez-David Rivero, with the third of the Porsche 911s on the list, who were second in TC2, but in the first pass had problems with a chicane and it delayed them in the provisional classification.
Oscar Curbelo-Elizabeth de la Iglesia, with a Renault Megane, finished fifth overall after these first two stages of the night of the Yaiza Rallysprint.
