The IV César Manrique-Puerto Calero sailing trophy in the Cruiser class started yesterday with the dispute of the first two regattas. In the test that opened the competition, the wind was the protagonist, as it started blowing from land and began to roll alternately, varying its intensity. The marked course to the 30º course had to be modified for the third of the four sections, marking the 010º course. The intensity that initially started blowing at 14-16 knots gradually decreased. The second leg was able to be contested with a Northeast established from the 70º course and an intensity of 16 knots, providing excellent sailing conditions. The Regatta Committee opted in both legs for windward-leeward courses of four sections and eight miles of total distance.

The joint start of the three IMS categories increased the spectacular nature of such a decisive launch. The line, highly favored by the viewfinder, caused an attentive CAM to immediately tack to port, taking advantage of the first strong roll, gaining an advantage over Puerto Calero Hesperia and La Maison de L'Elefant, its particular rivals. Among the IMS 600, there was a strong fight between the two top favorites, the Bombardier Illes Balears and the Audi Compal, who started sailing to starboard towards the coast.

Halfway through the first windward leg, the CAM crosses to the left side to control its rivals, consolidating its advantage, which was only compromised in the final approach to the buoy, where Puerto Calero Hesperia and La Maison de L'Elephant got very close. The real time differences at the end of the first windward leg were 14 seconds over Puerto Calero Hesperia and 1:05 minutes over La Maison. Things barely changed in the following sections, except for the time differences that grew, consolidating the positions at the finish.

The IMS 600 fleet had Bombardier as its first leader, 28 seconds ahead of Audi Compal, 2:20 minutes ahead of Maeña 5, 3:23 ahead of Felipeva IV and 3:38 ahead of Juanito. In the following sections there were alternatives in the fleet, including a change of leader when Audi Compal recovered, first, and then surpassed Bombadier.

In IMS 670, the first buoy was for Cometzier Cepsa against Yaiza-Hotel Fariones and Fumeke, an order that was maintained until the finish.

In the second of the tests, the start was favored by windward, although the boats further to leeward seemed satisfied thinking about being able to sail closer to land, this being the left side of the windward leg being the most favored.

In IMS 500, the CAM quickly took the lead, dominating the first section with some comfort, accumulating 1:35 minutes over Puerto Calero Hesperia and 1:50 over La Maison de L'Elepahant, who kept the local boat in check until the third section (rounding the buoy at 35 seconds at the end of the second windward leg), although in the second downwind leg Puerto Calero Hesperia was able to increase the advantage and save second place in compensated time.

The first windward leg of the IMS 600 fleet resulted in a tough duel of tacks between the Bombardier and the Audi Compal, causing the rest of the boats - technically of much lower performance - to remain lurking. Thus, the first pass through windward was for the Bombardier with 15 seconds over the Audi, 38 seconds over the Felipeva IV and 1:15 minutes over the Juanito, positions that this time were maintained until the finish.

In IMS 670, Cometzier Cepsa once again clearly won, repeating the podium places of the first leg, Yaiza-Hotel Fariones and Fumeke.
