There were no surprises in the last race of the season of the Island League of Latin Sailboats of 5 Meters, a race held on Saturday afternoon in the bay of Arrecife and valid for the Líneas Romero Trophy.

The Furia II Renault started as the top favorite to win the championship title, starring in a race in which it always remained in the leading positions and not putting at risk the boat skippered by Estanis Bethencourt the advantage acquired. The Playa Dorada of Ayrthami Quintana dominated the race from start to finish, and scored the victory in the last race of the season.

The race started with a slight delay, with the Regatta Committee working on the best possible race course in the face of a wind that was not stabilizing. Finally, with a north wind and an intensity of 14 knots, with gusts reaching 17 knots, the race began in which the boats had to make three windward legs and two downwind legs, with the buoys located next to El Reducto beach and on the high seas.

The Romerito Línea Romero of David Martín, a boat that started before the race as the third classified, suffered an offside at the start, so it had to be penalized, thus losing many options to fight for the first positions.

The Playa Dorada and the Bernasan broke away from the rest of the boats and were the ones that reached the buoy located next to El Reducto beach in the first positions. Behind, the Furia II Renault was ahead of the Tritón, its main rival in the fight for the league title.

The positions remained almost unchanged throughout the race. The Furia II Renault in the second windward leg had to be penalized for a slight touch next to the buoy with the Playa Blanca of Virginia Morales, quickly reacting the crew of the Furia II to not lose positions and not complicate the possibility of winning the title of champion of the Island League of Latin Sailboats of 5 Meters.

The Playa Dorada of Aythami Quintana scored the victory in the last race of the season, and with it won the victory in the Líneas Romero Trophy. The second place went to the Bernasan of Ayonath Caraballo and the Playa Branca of Virginia Morales entered the finish line in the third place. A third position that the boat from the south of Lanzarote served to snatch the third position of the general classification from the Romerito Líneas Romero, finishing the boat skippered by David Betancort in the eighth position in the race on Saturday.

The Furia II Renault celebrated the title of champion entering the finish line as the fourth classified and showing great regularity throughout the season. A campaign in which the boat skippered by Estanis Bethencourt has had the participation as sailors of Alejandro Bethencourt, Alexis Rodríguez, Alexis Hernández and Miguel Bethencourt.
