The Las Palmas Automobile Federation (FALP) wants to listen to its athletes, officials and clubs. Through the #AcercandolaFALP initiative, the entity chaired by Dani Ponce intends to bring together all groups with the aim of working together for the 2025 season, a campaign that, in purely sporting terms, will begin on the weekend of February 14 to 15 with the celebration of the 18th RallySprint La Candelaria.

For the next few days, the FALP has two meetings scheduled. The first will take place on Thursday, January 16, in the multipurpose and press rooms of the Gran Canaria Arena. This venue located in the municipality of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will open its doors so that the protagonists of motorsport feel the federative support for the exciting course that is coming in the province. This call is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

On Saturday, January 18, the second meeting of the #AcercandolaFALP program will be held in Lanzarote. For this island, the Arrecife Youth Center has been chosen. This meeting will take place from 10:00 a.m. and just the day after the awards ceremony of the Lanzarote Island Automobile Championship.

The athletes, officials and clubs of Fuerteventura will also be called for another call later. "We want to bring the FALP closer to, in the first instance, expose to these groups the line of
work of the new Board of Directors. It will also be an approach to listen to the opinions, doubts, complaints and suggestions that they raise," says Marcos González, vice president of the governing body of motorsport in the eastern province. On the other hand, the email [email protected] has been enabled to receive and evaluate all those that arrive.

The FALP shows its strong opposition to the increase in registrations

Yesterday, Saturday, January 11, the Gran Canaria Arena hosted the Extraordinary General Assembly of the Canary Islands Automobile Federation (FCA), an event attended by Ponce as president and other representatives of the FALP who serve as assembly members. All of them strongly opposed one of the proposals launched, that of raising the price of registrations by 3.5% for the current season.

"Our federation does not believe in this increase, quite the opposite. The objective is to reduce costs as much as possible," says González. "To this end, we are working on finding sponsorships and aid for officials," he adds. The vice president of the FALP also considers the approval of car-crosses to promote participation in the mountains "as long as the organizer complies with the relevant security measures" to be positive.
