The UD Las Palmas Summer Campus has been running for seven years in Gran Canaria and for the first time opens its borders to the islands of Lanzarote and La Palma. It arrives in Lanzarote with CD Lomo and will do so between July 22 and 27 at the Agapito Reyes Viera de Altavista facilities. Last Saturday, those responsible for the UD Las Palmas Summer Campus moved to Lanzarote and offered a training course to the technicians and monitors of CD Lomo. An activity that has served to lay the technical foundations for what the campus will be and to learn about the work methodology that will be developed during the days that the campus lasts.
The UD Las Palmas Campus training course took place in the "Martín Martín" room of the "El Velero" building, located in Charco de San Ginés. A course attended by about thirty people, including coaches, monitors, delegates and managers of CD Lomo. Yeray Sanchez, Director of Development of the UD Las Palmas Football School, was in charge of making the presentation of the course and explaining the contents that were going to be developed throughout Saturday afternoon.
Juan Méndez, creator of the DECOLUD Sports Program and coordinator of the UD Las Palmas Football School, and Ángel Luis Camacho, national coach and sports coordinator of the UD Las Palmas Campus, were in charge of conducting the training course. The UD Las Palmas Football School team was completed with the presence of Nacho Grimón, who was in charge of graphically collecting everything that happened there.
The UD Las Palmas Campus training course lasted nearly three hours, being participatory and open to all questions and doubts from the coaches and monitors of CD Lomo. A talk that served to learn about the work methodology that will be carried out and the technical aspects that will be emphasized throughout the six days that the campus lasts. Aspects such as the width of the playing field, the depth or the unmarking, will be some of the techniques that those enrolled in the UD Las Palmas Campus will learn and the youngest ones will be able to identify what is being worked on in each moment of the training.
Those responsible for the UD Las Palmas Campus explained that the training sessions will be divided into four large blocks. Technique, Game, Psychomotricity and Tactics, will be the aspects that will be worked on, with the players going through each of the groups once a day and performing exercises in each of the blocks for an hour. The UD Las Palmas Campus training course was very participatory, sharing the acquired concepts and the CD Lomo monitors not hesitating to resolve the doubts that arose in the explanation of the different concepts.
