The youths of the Tenerife Team revalidated in Lanzarote the title of champion of the Pancho Camurria Tournament of Canarian Wrestling. In the grand final they faced the Lanzarote Team, and the good strategy of the mandador Jeremías Delgado gave the expected results. From the first seats, the Tenerife team was in charge of breaking the Lanzarote team and leaving Álvaro Torres and Sixto Rodríguez alone in the face of danger. Sixto Rodríguez fell to the ground with five rivals, giving a show of honor that raised the fans from their seats, but it was not possible to give the victory to Lanzarote. The good work of Sixto Rodríguez was cut short by Argeo García, who gave him two in a row to the Lanzarote wrestler.
At the first change, the Tenerife Team took a four-point lead on the scoreboard. Eusebio Ledesma, the best of the Tenerife wrestlers on Sunday morning, gave two in a row to Omar Pérez and Gabriel Martín. Sandro Armas left Acaymo Bonilla out of the fight and Alexis Marichal did the same with Marcelo Fuentes. As soon as the match began, the scoreboard already reflected a clear 4-0 in favor of Tenerife.
Alejandro Umpiérrez was in charge of putting the first point on the Lanzarote scoreboard, giving two in a row to Sandro Ramos. Daniel Sánchez eliminating Cristian Arbelo and Cristian Elvira leaving Alexis Marichal out of the fight, brought Lanzarote closer on the scoreboard. Alejandro Umpiérrez and Borja Ramos were mutually eliminated after scoring a partial triumph and ending in a separate third grapple between them. The scoreboard at that time reflected a result of 6 to 4 in favor of Tenerife, and Lanzarote harbored the possibility of causing a surprise.
Eduardo Hernández, Cristian Galván and Eusebio Ledesma, were in charge of waking Lanzarote from the dream and increasing the differences on the scoreboard again. They left Cristian Elvira, Daniel Sánchez and Francisco Reyes out of the fight, respectively, in matches in which they gave two in a row. Sixto Rodríguez began to show his supremacy and gave two in a row to Cristian Galván. Fabio Martín and a combative Álvaro Torres, were eliminated by Eusebio Ledesma and Eduardo Hernández, placing the Tenerife team with a clear score of 11 to 5 and leaving Sixto Rodríguez as the only wrestler on the Lanzarote side.
Sixto Rodríguez began his recital and began to leave several Tenerife wrestlers out of the fight. As he eliminated the Tenerife wrestlers, the public enjoyed the show that the Lanzarote wrestler was giving on the sand. He gave Eduardo de la Rosa, Luis Abreu and Eduardo Hernández two in a row. He had more problems with Eusebio Díaz, seeing how the Tenerife wrestler gave him the first one by taking advantage of an attack by the conejero wrestler and making a mistake in the counter. Sixto scored the second and third grapple and left the score at a tight 11 to 9.
Exhausted by the effort he had had to make previously, Sixto Rodríguez faced Argeo García in the last grapple of the morning. In the fight last Friday corresponding to the regular phase, Argeo had already managed to bring Sixto Rodríguez to the ground and would do it again. Argeo García gave him the first one and Sixto recovered in the second to equalize the match. In the third, Sixto Rodríguez went for the Tenerife wrestler and saw how his opponent left him out of the fight. Despite falling, Sixto received the applause of the public present, recognizing the great work he had done.
The Tenerife Team revalidates the title of champion of the Pancho Camurria Tournament of Canarian Wrestling and Lanzarote for the third time in history is on the verge of conquering this prestigious tournament that brings together the future stars of this sport. The president of the Canarian Wrestling Federation, Germán Rodríguez, and the Minister of Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands, Inés Rojas, were in charge of presenting the medals and trophies to the finalist teams.
