The 2009/2010 season of the Lanzarote First Regional League is decided in 180 minutes. Sporting Tías and CD Tinajo, second and first classified of the regular season respectively, will fight for the champion title and to represent the island of Lanzarote in the promotion phase to the Regional Preferente of Las Palmas. Both teams will seek a good result in the first leg.
Sporting Tías earned its right to be in the final of the First Regional play off, after defeating Torrelavega in the semi-final round. A tie that was decided in the first leg. CD Tinajo had a harder time to defeat San Bartolomé. After a one-goal draw in the first leg, the Tinajo team won 2-1 in the second leg.
During the regular season, Sporting Tías and Tinajo have proven to be the best teams in the category. Tinajo finished the competition as leader with 40 points and without knowing defeat in any of the matches played. For its part, Sporting Tías finished with 37 points in the second position of the classification.
If we take into account the results of the regular league, the tie would be decided in favor of Tinajo. In the first leg match, both squads tied at four goals. And in the second half of the season match, the Tinajo team won 3-2. Matches in which many goals were scored, a circumstance not usual in the play off matches.
The coach of CD Tinajo, Orencio Pérez, will have a loss for tonight's match. He will not be able to count on defender Caluka, a player who has been sanctioned with one match for accumulation of yellow cards.
