One more year and on the occasion of the festivities in honor of Our Lady Mary Help of Christians, the Vertical Montaña Blanca does not disappoint runners and fans in any of its four characteristic modalities: Fanega 26 kilometers, Almud 11 kilometers, Cuartillo six kilometers and Hiking six kilometers.

The event took place last Sunday, bringing together a total of 300 participants in the four modalities. These circuits once again had a luxury prelude, the nocturnal vertical, a time trial held last Friday. Thus, two days of the best trail were experienced, with a great atmosphere among runners, fans and spectators, who came to the Montaña Blanca square to enjoy one of the most original competitions on the island.

The organization arranged a "Vertical Chinijos", with the participation of the little ones of the house. An hour later, the 2 km race began, ascending the Montaña Blanca with a picturesque route, discovering itself in the middle of the night and from a distance thanks to the flashlights of the runners, reaching the finish line sharing the podium: Tinguaro Quintero, Saul Rodríguez and Héctor David Tavío.

On Sunday, the participants in the "Fanega" category took the start first, a very hard modality with spectacular landscapes, in the female category the victory went to Ildiko Csilla Biro and in the male category the victory went to Tanausú Cabrera.

The "Almud" category, a circuit full of ups and downs at high speed, being one of the most acclaimed, proclaimed winners: Javier López and Nuria Muñoz.

The last event carried out was the "Cuartillo" category, sharing the distance of 6 km with the "Hiking" modality, the latter without competition at stake but it was the most popular group with 160 participants, a test that was characterized by speed and proclaiming the winner in the male section, Tinguaro Quintero and in the female section, Ivanka López was proclaimed winner.

Once all the tests were finished, the awards ceremony took place, some very original handmade trophies and local products, which were presented by the councilors of the San Bartolomé city council, Raúl de León, Marlene Romero, Mamadou Yero and the organizer of the Vertical Montaña Blanca, Nacho Romero.
