Tight result (26-27) achieved by CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen at the Miguel Ángel Blanco Sports Center in Ermua against Ermuko Errotabarri Eke in a match corresponding to the fifteenth day of Group B of the Women's Silver Honor Division.

The match, which arrived wrapped in an aura of small doubts for the conejeras due to the Christmas break and the casualties of the previous days, always developed with advantages on the scoreboard for the players of Miguel Ángel Lemes.

CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen always kept the lead on the scoreboard, starting with a comfortable 11-16 at the end of the first half.

The Basque players tightened in the second half of the match, gradually reducing the advantage of the Lanzarote team, who managed to maintain a one-goal advantage in the last five minutes of the match (26-27).

In the offensive aspect, the work of Mari Sánchez with seven goals and Rosá Álvarez with five goals should be highlighted. In the ranks of Ermuko Errotabarri Eke, the player Cristina Vivar scored six goals.

With this new victory, CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen maintains the lead of Group B of the Women's Silver Honor Division with 30 points and fifteen victories after fifteen matches played, undefeated and followed with 26 points by Logroño Sporting La Rioja and Atlántico Pereda who have won their respective matches this weekend.

The Tías players travel back to the Basque Country next weekend on matchday 16 to face Petronor Muskiz Eskubaloia in Vizcaya, a team that this week has lost widely at home to Schär Zaragoza (42-29), a defeat that places them in the last position of the standings, with two points, with a balance after fifteen matchdays of one victory and fourteen defeats.

The conejero coach Miguel Ángel Lemes explained after the match that "the match was quite complicated, we did well in the first half but the second half was quite difficult for us, they made an individual defense, we were not so fine in defense, we could not counterattack, in static attack we had quite a few difficulties but in the end we were able to win, which is the important thing".

Regarding the last minutes of the match, Lemes explains that "they managed to tie us but in the end a couple of interventions by Andrea, the goalkeeper, put us two up, they scored a goal with forty seconds left but we knew how to keep the ball and there were no more shots and we won by one. We knew how to react, the match became complicated for us but we knew how to win".

Regarding the sensations after the Christmas break and various injuries, Lemes explains that "the week was strange, it didn't go well for us, with many people affected by illness, selections, I think that little by little we will pick up the pace we had at the end when we finished, which we were quite good and the break was bad for us but that is not a reason but to continue working and return to the level we had. Now we have an away game that, in theory, is feasible against the bottom team that is losing by many goals and then we have another game that we have to pick up the pace again to face the more complicated games.".

Miguel Ángel Lemes now expects a week that will start "this Monday with recovery training, we rest on Tuesday and then Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to accumulate some more work already thinking about the match because here you don't have to underestimate anyone but thinking about physical load to recover, we hope that the affected players will recover and we will all be available next week", concludes the conejero coach.
