UD Lanzarote won a match away from home again, prevailing on Thursday morning against CD El Cotillo. The red and whites were able to turn the score around and come back from Caliche's goal that put the team from Majorera ahead in the first half. Raúl and Kennedy were in charge of scoring the goals for UD Lanzarote in the final stretch of the match. Three points that allow UD Lanzarote to mathematically achieve permanence for another season in the Canarian group of the Third Division.
The first half of the match was one of alternating dominance, with most of the game focused on the wide area of the pitch. The two teams barely approached the rival areas in this first part. CD El Cotillo would take advantage of one of the few arrivals to the opposite area to take the lead on the scoreboard. Caliche made it 1-0 on the scoreboard when the 24th minute of the first half was running.
The second half began with the dominance of CD El Cotillo, with the Majoreros having several chances to increase the differences on the scoreboard. In the first minutes, Caliche was able to beat Agoney, with the red and white goalkeeper clearing the shot for a corner. Minutes later, Héctor tried it with a shot from the front of the area and the ball would be lost over the top of the goal defended by Agoney.
The referee disallowed a goal for UD Lanzarote. Rosmen's goal would not go up on the scoreboard, with the referee interpreting that the ball had gone out over the end line before the striker's shot. The response from El CD Cotillo would come in the boots of Héctor, with the shot going high again.
CD El Cotillo had to face the last 20 minutes of the match with one less player on the pitch. Caliche was injured and the local coach had already made the only change he could make in this match. The Majoreros presented themselves with twelve players to play this match against UD Lanzarote. It was the moment chosen by UD Lanzarote to increase the pace and find the spaces in the defense of the local team.
In the 75th minute, a shot by Ángel was rejected by goalkeeper Omar, the loose ball inside the area was taken advantage of by Raúl to establish the tie on the scoreboard. And just five minutes later, a good cross from Ángel Gil from the touchline was finished off by Kennedy, putting UD Lanzarote ahead on the scoreboard.
Until the end of the match it was a desire and not being able to on the part of El CD Cotillo, closing lines UD Lanzarote and holding the result that was reaping. Victory for UD Lanzarote, which serves to mathematically achieve permanence in the Canarian group of the Third Division.
