Good performance of ESNA Lanzarote in the IV Grand Prix Open

Swimmer Paula Hernando won gold in the 50-meter breaststroke event

ESNA Lanzarote continues to accumulate experience and kilometers behind them. Last weekend they participated in the José Feo pool of the Metropole Swimming Club in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in the IV Grand Prix Open, an international swimming competition, offering a remarkable participation.

Accompanied by coach Raúl García and delegate Óscar Pérez, they participated in the third stage of the circuit where the performance of Paula Hernando stood out, gold medal in 50 meters breaststroke in an environment surrounded by stars of world swimming with names of great swimming coaches such as Fred Vergnoux, Alberto Silva or Stefano Franceschi together with a host of great names in the water.

On Saturday, ESNA proposed swimmers such as Hugo Rijo, Óscar Pérez (sixth in the 100-meter backstroke final), Iker Fernández, Santiago Fernández (seventh in the 1,500-meter freestyle), Nicolás Manzatto, Javier Callero (who achieved the national minimum in 400 meters freestyle), Paula Hernando (first in the 50-meter breaststroke final with a time of 34.89), María Barrios (seventh in 100 meters freestyle), Julia González, Sara Rijo (fifth in the 100 meters backstroke final) and Paula Cardeñosa.

On Sunday, it was the turn for Hugo Rijo in 50 meters freestyle (he was sixth in the final), Óscar Pérez (sixth in the 50 meters backstroke final), Iker Fernández, Santiago Fernández, Nicolas Manzatto, Javier Callero, Paula Hernando (fifth in the A final of 100 meters breaststroke), María Barrios (eighth in the 200 meters freestyle final), Julia González, Sara Rijo (seventh in the 200 meters freestyle final and national minimum) and Paula Cardeñosa.

In relays, it is also worth mentioning the national minimum in the 4x200 Freestyle of the women's children's team composed of María, Claudia, Julia and Sara, added to the national minimum in the 4x100 freestyle that they had already achieved in a previous regional championship.

Results with which ESNA Lanzarote continues to grow and consolidate itself among the best school clubs in the Canary Islands.
