The Sports Council of UD Lanzarote continues working on the preparation of the first team squad for the 2023/2024 season, with the aim of having the block of players that finished the recently concluded season.
The goalkeeper Ruymán Fernández will continue defending the goal of UD Lanzarote, renewing his link with the rojillo team for the new season.
Ruymán Fernández Díaz, born on April 23, 1988, is a 1.85 meter tall goalkeeper who stands out for his security under the sticks. He has extensive experience in the Canarian group of the Third Federation, becoming season after season one of the best goalkeepers in the national category in the Canary Islands.
It will be his seventh season at UD Lanzarote, the fifth in a row, making him one of the players with the most stripes inside and outside the team's dressing room. In the two stages in which he has defended the rojilla goal, he exceeds one hundred games, adding a total of 105 official matches.
In the recently completed season he played a total of 22 games, 21 of them as a starter, in which he was 1,940 minutes on the field. The rojillo goalkeeper conceded 19 goals, 17 of them in the regular phase of the competition and two in the promotion play-off played against UD Villa de Santa Brígida, contributing to the rojillo team being one of the least scored in the national category.
The renewal of Ruymán Fernández is added to the continuity in the team of the forward Gonzalo Di Renzo and the inside Adrián Machín. In the chapter of incorporations, the Sports Council of UD Lanzarote has closed the return of central defender Luciano Pierce "Chuky" and attacking midfielder Ale Fuentes.
