FC Puerto del Carmen is not having luck this season in the Women's First National League, and despite playing well, it is not finding the reward in the form of points. The match on Saturday against Atlético Unión Güimar escaped them due to small details, giving away a penalty in the first half and missing a penalty kick in added time of the second half.
The first minutes of the match were dominated by FC Puerto del Carmen, having several approaches to the opponent's area. The clearest chance came in the 19th minute when Kiara received a ball inside the area and was unable to finish when she was alone in front of the rival goalkeeper.
After the first half, the action arrived that unbalanced the match in favor of Atlético Unión Güimar. Goalkeeper Naza misjudged her exit and ended up running over Zuleyma inside the area. The referee pointed out the clear penalty in favor of the Tenerife team, and María Selene was in charge of launching the penalty to make it 0-1.
Shortly after, FC Puerto del Carmen suffered a new setback in the form of an injury. Marisol had to leave the field due to a strong blow to the ankle, relapsing again in the same injury. Jack Talbot had to make changes in the defensive line, placing Judith in the center of the defense.
In the second half, it was a desire and not being able to for FC Puerto del Carmen, with the locals not finding the formula to hurt Atlético Unión Güimar. The visitors had the sentence in the 75th minute, when Zuleyma stood inside the area and was not successful at the time of the shot when she was alone against Naza.
FC Puerto del Carmen had the equalizer in added time of the second half, with the referee pointing out the second penalty of the afternoon for a defender's handball inside the area. The responsibility of launching the penalty was assumed by the young Eva Sánchez in the absence of Georgia, not being successful in the launch and stopping by low Nora.
0-1 victory for Atlético Unión Güimar against FC Puerto del Carmen, in a match in which the Tiñoseras deserved a better result. The defeat leaves them in tenth place in the standings, maintaining the advantage over the relegation zone. Next weekend they will travel to Tenerife to face CD Llamoro.
