Vitaldent Vecindario Gran Canaria has become the "bête noire" of Gourmet Ampate Lanzarote this season. In the first round, they were already able to assault the Titerroy Municipal Pavilion, and in Saturday's match, they almost left the Lanzarote team without points. With one minute left, they were winning by three goals, at which point San José Obrero made a feat to tie the match and add a point that allows them to increase the advantage over Rodosa Balonmano Chapela.
The first minutes of the match were marked by the exchange of goals, with Vitaldent Vecindario enjoying a narrow advantage. Eleven minutes had to pass before Gourmet Ampate Lanzarote took the lead for the first time on the scoreboard. Acoidán Martín scored from the center of the court into an empty goal, as the opponent played without a goalkeeper due to the exclusion of Lois López.
The Lanzarote team did not feel comfortable on the playing court, having the absence of their center Mikita Bence in this match, a player in charge of building each of the attacking actions. Vitaldent Vecindario obtained a three-goal advantage thanks to a 4-0 run, and the match went to halftime with a score of 11 to 9 in favor of the Gran Canaria team.
For many minutes of the second half, the local team continued to take the initiative on the scoreboard, although little by little the difference was reduced. Gourmet Ampate Lanzarote managed to turn the score around with six minutes remaining, with Joel Armas establishing the score at 23 to 24.
San José Obrero disconnected again in the final minutes, and the timeout requested by Carmelo Lobato allowed Vecindario to obtain a three-goal advantage with less than a minute remaining. The match went crazy in that minute, with the Lanzarote team taking the most advantage of that madness.
Acoidán Martín reduced the difference after taking a quick center. Gourmet Ampate Lanzarote pressed on the entire court, with goalkeeper Javi Santana making two saves to prevent Vecindario from sealing the match. After the first save, Mikita Liavonau scored from the left wing, and after the second, Acoidán passed to Mikita Liavonau to score on the buzzer from the right wing.
The match ended in a 28-goal tie, with Gourmet Ampate Lanzarote rescuing a point when they had practically lost the match. A point that serves to increase the difference with the third-placed team to three when only four are left in play. Next week, the Lanzarote team will face BM Tejina La Laguna starting at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
