A priori it was an easy game for Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote San José Obrero, although the Lanzarote team had to put on their work clothes to beat a Beti Onak who never threw in the towel. It was difficult for the team trained by Jesús Casanova to get into the game and when they had a comfortable lead they rested on their laurels, allowing Beti Onak to react. A new triumph for Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote, continuing three points behind Balonmano Navas, a team that would also add a triumph on this day.

Beti Onak was in charge of taking the initiative on the scoreboard in the first minutes of the game. The visitors put a defense on Pedro Teixeira, with the sole objective of stopping one of the important players in the attack of Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote. It was difficult for the locals to score the first goal of the match, and more than seven minutes passed before Ángel Bonilla opened the Beti Onak goal. The good circulation of the ball in attack led to the first goal of the match.

With a 3-0 partial, Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote equalized the match, although Rubén Rodríguez was in charge of putting Beti Onak ahead again on the scoreboard by transforming a seven-meter shot. San José Obrero was penalized several times at the beginning of the match with penalties, due to the interior defenses that the Lanzarote defenders were carrying out.

Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote did not finish getting into the game and therefore, Jesús Casanova asked for a time-out in the 13th minute when the scoreboard reflected a 6 to 8 in favor of Beti Onak. The Lanzarote team took the lead for the first time on the scoreboard in the 18th minute, with Pedro Teixeira being in charge of putting the result of 8 to 7 on the scoreboard. These were the best minutes of San José Obrero on the playing field.

In the final stretch of the first half, Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote achieved one of the maximum differences of the match, with a lead of six goals (15-9). An advantage that they did not know how to manage before the break. A 0-4 partial allowed Beti Onak to get back into the game and go to the break two goals down. The result of 15 to 13 at halftime left the game open for the second half.

The first minutes of the second half were marked by the exchange of goals. Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote once again readjusted its defense in these first minutes and allowed Beti Onak to score easily. Rubén Rodríguez with a powerful outside shot and the penetrations through the sides of Álvaro Ojer, were causing many problems for the Lanzarote defense.

In the middle of the second half, Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote would once again enjoy the maximum income. With an advantage of eight goals (26-18), it seemed that the game was sentenced. Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote would relax excessively and as happened at the end of the first half allowed Beti Onak to get back into the game.

After a 0-3 partial in favor of the visiting team, Jesús Casanova asked for a time-out in the 19th minute to remind his players that all the work was not done and that they had to continue working to ensure an important victory. The game of Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote did not improve and with a 1 to 7 partial Beti Onak was only two goals away with six minutes remaining.

Pedro Teixeira, the best of the team in attack during the match, would break the negative dynamic of the team by scoring a vaseline goal. A beautifully crafted goal that served to make Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote strive in defense and not allow the complete reaction of Beti Onak. With the score of 31 to 27, the end of the match would be reached.

A triumph that allows Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote San José Obrero to closely follow the second classified. Balonmano Navas did not fail on this day, retaining second place with a three-point advantage over the Lanzarote team. In the next match, Ciudad de Arrecife Chacón Lanzarote visits Balonmano Delicias, a team that closes the classification of group B of the First State Men's Handball Division.
