Magec Tías “Against Gender Violence” was defeated at home against Valencia BC in a match where the Lanzarote team was always behind on the scoreboard. The team had the feeling of doing a great job against a rival called to be in the highest category next year.

From the beginning, the Valencian girls made it clear that they did not come to Lanzarote for tourism and imposed a very strong rhythm. The local players tried to respond with good basketball. The needs of the match, controlled by the orange team, forced Aday Villalba to have more minutes than he had planned for Yaiza García, the club's flagship and who had not had minutes this year after suffering a meniscus operation before starting the preseason.

CD Magec Tías “Against Gender Violence” showed their face at all times, but it was clear that the tall and strong visiting players were not going to make it easy and managed to win the first quarter by 13 to 20.

The differences were extended at the beginning of the second quarter, reaching up to 11 points, but the locals quickly put on their work clothes and began to defend much better. Despite the problems when scoring, the difference was reduced to four points. The injury of the Argentine international Ornella Santana disrupted the Lanzarote plans, who lost one of the strong players. The result at halftime was still 7 points for the Valencian team, 28 to 35.

At the beginning of the third quarter, the Buenos Aires player returned to the court, drawing on her caste to help her teammates. For its part, the defensive game of the Valencian team intensified, preventing the main players in attack of the locals from being able to have ease and hindering the circulation of the ball in the creation, which allowed them to once again open a gap in the electronic, ending the quarter 43 to 58, the maximum difference until then in the match.

The Valencians did not want surprises and continued along the same path they had shown in the third quarter. Losing Irene Gari, Meiya Tirera and Thiama Kamara was a problem for the visitors that they easily recovered from, while the locals continued to compete and fight for each ball as if it were the last of the entire season, although that result was not reflected on the scoreboard.

The match ended with the victory of Valencia Basket by 58 to 83, a result that prevents Magec Tías from adding the second victory at home, although with the satisfaction of having given everything on the court. Now to think about the next match, Laboratorios Ynsadiet Leganés, which they will visit next weekend.
