Tough defeat suffered on Saturday night by CB Lanzarote Zonzamas, saying goodbye to the year 2017 with a resounding defeat against AD Carballal. The batateras got stuck in attack in the second part of the match, a period in which they only scored four goals and could not overcome the defense of the Galicians. A defeat that leaves CB Lanzarote Zonzamas with a two-point advantage over the relegation zone of the category.
The beginning of the match did not foreshadow the outcome of the same, with a CB Lanzarote Zonzamas that played face to face with AD Carballal. The Lanzarote team took the initiative on the scoreboard, with a slight advantage. The halfway point of the first half was reached with the score at 6-6.
The Galicians began to take off on the scoreboard thanks to the 3-0 run achieved by AD Carballal (9-6), with Nisamar Ramos being in charge of breaking the Galicians' run. Carballal began to tip the game in their favor in the final stretch of the first half. The score was 6-3 in the last ten minutes, reaching halftime with the result of 15-9.
AD Carballal did not let up at the start of the second half, achieving a 4-1 run in the first five minutes (19-10), leaving the advantage close to ten goals. CB Lanzarote Zonzamas began to show their problems in attack, having many difficulties in overcoming the defense of the Galicians.
Sara de León, in the 11th minute of the second half, scored the last goal for CB Lanzarote Zonzamas. The batateras were without piercing the Galicians' goal for almost 20 minutes. Zonzamas only scored four goals in the second half, a circumstance that was used by Carballal to increase the lead on the scoreboard.
With the result of 28-13, the match came to an end, with CB Lanzarote Zonzamas suffering their third consecutive defeat. The batateras end the year with a two-point advantage over the relegation zone of Group A of the Women's Silver Division of Handball.
