Aena continues to advance in the execution of the Acoustic Insulation Plan of César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport with the approval of an investment of 3.5 million euros, intended for the soundproofing of 408 homes and a nursery school, whose actions are already planned and are expected to be completed in the medium term.

In the fourth meeting to follow up on the Plan, held this Tuesday, representatives from the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO), the State Aviation Safety Agency (AESA), the Cabildo of Lanzarote, and the city councils of Arrecife, San Bartolomé, and Tías attended, as well as personnel from Aena.

In it, in addition to the approved investment, it was reported that, after the completion of acoustic measurements, the need to carry out insulation work in 627 properties has been confirmed. Likewise, in another 49 properties, the financing and execution of the works is pending solely on the conformity of their owners with the proposed solutions.

Regarding the development of the plan, to date the soundproofing works have been carried out in 26 homes, which are already acoustically insulated, for an amount of 178,500 euros. Another 431 properties are currently under construction and, in parallel, new applications continue to be processed.

The current census of the Acoustic Insulation Plan of César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport amounts to 1,068 homes and buildings for sensitive use (912 in San Bartolomé, 89 in Arrecife, and 67 in Tías). To date, 718 applications have been received, so there is still a large number of owners who have not yet requested inclusion in the Plan.

Soundproofing actions are carried out in homes and buildings for sensitive use located within the area defined by the airport's acoustic easement, delimited by the sound levels established in current regulations, and which have a construction license prior to its approval, in September 2021.
