Long day of work that had to be faced yesterday by those responsible for CB San José Obrero in order to respond to the offer made by the Royal Spanish Handball Federation to occupy the vacant place in the Guerreras Iberdrola League. The Lanzarote club has accepted the proposal of the federative entity to serve in the 2020/2021 season in the highest national category of women's handball.

This Friday morning, CB San José Obrero has informed the Competition Director of the Royal Spanish Handball Federation that it accepts the vacant place in the Guerreras Iberdrola League, now awaiting official confirmation from the federative entity of the acceptance of all the required requirements.

The president of the club, Juan Carlos Toledo, explains that they accept the place because "we are in a position to face the new season with the maximum sports and economic guarantees" and points out that "we were working on the preparation of a very competitive squad with players with experience in the Guerreras Iberdrola League".

"The club has done its job of contacting private companies and public institutions to ensure that we will have the economic support needed to face the season," says the top manager of the entity.

After accepting the vacant place, hard work now begins to complete a competitive squad and be able to consolidate in the category. In this sense, Juan Carlos Toledo considers that "despite having practically made the team, we have to reinforce some positions that are important and be able to fight for the permanence that will be the objective that we set ourselves".

CB San José Obrero will experience a historic season by competing for the first time in the Guerreras Iberdrola League and having the opportunity to be in the elite of Spanish handball. It is the reward for the work done in the past season, leading the classification of the Women's Silver Division of Honor for many days and occupying the first place in the classification before the state of alarm was decreed in Spain.
